Sourcing

Every numeric claim on this site traces to a listed source. We prefer government datasets and published cost surveys over manufacturer marketing. Where sources disagree we show the range, not a made-up midpoint.

Review

No guide is published until a person has checked its figures against the cited sources. Drafting tools may be used in research and first drafts; the accountability for what's published is human.

Updates

Cost guides are re-checked at least annually and when a major source publishes new data. The "updated" date on each guide reflects a substantive check, not a cosmetic change.

Independence

We are an independent publisher. If you request a quote through this site we may be paid by the contractor network that receives your request. This never affects the numbers in our guides, which are cited to public sources. We do not accept payment for placement, and we do not rank installers or brands by who pays us.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong, tell us at editor@standbypowerguide.com. We fix it and note the correction on the page.
